Man who was involved in Kimber Reynolds’ murder sentenced to 44 years to life.

Fresno’s local Channel 30 Action News provided an online article and video of Walker’s 5 March 2018 sentencing.

Man who inspired three strikes law sentenced to life in prison for most recent act of violence

The San Jose Mercury News carried an AP article, as did many papers even the New York Times.
California man who inspired 1994 3 strikes law gets life sentence

The New York Times reported the same mischaracterization that Mike Reynolds’ original initiative, Prop. 184, was centered around the third strike being a serious or violent one. The third strike could be for a non-violent or non-serious low level felony. In fact the third strike could even be for a previous misdemeanor, now elevated to the felony level for committing the same criminal act again, allowable under California law.

It seems only Walker’s hometown paper, The Fresno Bee, dedicated anything original about the sentencing, while every other news outlet used the AP release. It was brief, but we keep track of everything we can.
